UNIVERSITY
OF ILLINOIS-SPRINGFIELD
(Female pieces only in the exhibit)
* These casts are beautiful and truly capture the
essence of originality and individual beauty within the human
body.
*
This exhibit is a reminder that we are all created in the image
of the Goddess. Blessed be!
*
The fact that people can see a body not as sex objects but as
beauty is amazing. There needs to be more of this kind of education,
especially to younger kids when they are trying to define themselves.
*
These casts are a wake up call to the media. No woman is the same
and the vast majority of us do not fill the "mold" they
have cast for us all.
*
Interesting exhibit. I wish there were males also.
*
I was very intrigued with the idea that you cannot tell the race
or the age of the subjects.
*
I think diversity is exciting and these body casts depict every
shape, which is wonderful.
*
Sick, sick, sick. (note: This person viewed the exhibit and said
the following, "I'm fat and I'm ugly. These pieces are fat
and they are ugly. You need to take them down.")
*
Very Cool
*
They're very fascinating! I think you are using your talent for
a wonderful cause. People need to have a better self-image and
a better appreciation for others.
*
Lovely! Original! The body is a scientific wonder and these are
a work of art.
*
All women are beautiful, no exceptions here. I like them because
they are real.
*
It's too bad the world can not always see the life behind our
bodies. It's our road map of where we have been. Thank you. These
women are me.
*
Enlightening. Wonderful humanist approach. Keep on truckin!
*
I realized a few years ago that as long as I live in truth, my
life is much better. Your work is truth.
*
Your work is great as was your speech. I feel my views have changed
in many ways, but only in a short time with you.
*
It is a joy to be surrounded by such beauty, including my own.
*
The casts are amazing and inspirational. Inspirational in the
sense of being able to see your true self as opposed to just looking
in the mirror or looking at or examining your own body, I think
once you see your true self you can start seeing that it's okay
to look and have a different shape than the "supermodel".
I feel a spiritual awakening. I think that it would be interesting
to do. It's not just an external view of ones self but an internal
look into who we are as an individual.
*
This was a powerful eye opening experience. It made me feel good
to be me.
*
The pieces are absolutely enlightening, very real. Thank you for
the experience. In such a short time, I learned a lot about myself.
* The casts made me look at my body differently. They were all
beautiful. Were they black, white or Chinese? Can't tell, just
see the real person. It gives me a little bit of hope that one
day my body might be accepted as beautiful.
