University of Nebraska (Vagina Monologues) 2001

In 2000, I exhibited and lectured at the "No Limits" conference sponsored by the womens studies department at the University. I met several wonderful people, many of whom expressed interest in being a part of an exhibit. A year later, that opportunity came about with an invitation to participate in the production of Eve Ensler's Obie award-winning play, The Vagina Monologues. Casts were created of 14 of the Monologue participants. These were combined with 14 more pieces from my collection. Several events were planned using the casts. The pieces were a centerpiece to help draw a crowd for a silent auction to fund the V-Day celebration and to assist a shelter for abused women. The Venue Art Gallery displayed the work as a sponsor of the event also. During the Monologue production, the pieces were displayed in the lobby of the auditorium where it was held.
